As another new year rolls around and many of you are already chasing down new targets, goals, dreams and resolutions.
I’d love to share with you what I believe are the two most powerful questions that you could ever ask yourself. These questions are so simple, yet at the same time devilishly hard most to answer.
On the other side of these questions sits the two most important ingredients for success in your health and life.
Clarity and purpose.
Only 3% of the world’s population consciously set any goals.
These 3% accomplish more than the other 97% combined.

2017 Is Upon Us!

..and no doubt you have set some news years resolutions and goals. There are probably some bad habits that you want to drop and some good habits that you want to start. Perhaps some big hairy audacious goals  (BHAGs) that you plan to attack throughout the year.

If you have, good on you! I’m the same way. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this time of year and the buzz of anticipation energy that gets released when people set targets that are in authentic alignment with who they naturally are.

I firmly believe that you have an incredible inborn potential to master your life and achieve your dreams. For most people this potential remains largely untapped. (In part two to this post I will share some insight on why I believe this occurs and what to do about it.)

Your potential is sitting, dammed up inside. This pressure builds, just as it has continuously built over your lifetime. All that needs to happen is a simple turning of the valve to release your magnificence upon the world.

There Is However One Small Problem (as they like to put it on Top Gear)

With all of this potential comes virtually limitless opportunity.

This I believe is one of the reasons most people shut down their executive centres and settle for just getting by and hoping for the best.

Many will set new year’s resolutions knowing full well that it is quite likely that they will go they will go down the tubes as soon as the busy-ness of life hits. This is a shame and probably creates more internal chaos than progress, because in order to get ahead you must develop confidence in yourself. This will only come when you prove to yourself that you can do the things you say you’re going to do!

To avoid this trap and direct your natural powers you must get crystal clear on what it is that you are actually chasing in life. Your energies need to be focussed like a laser beam onto specific outcomes rather than scattered, deflected and diffuse upon many.

Now you might say that’s just common sense. To that I say yes it is! I also say that it is my keen observation that that 98% of people will not take the time to do the work to get clear, which in turn allows them to shine their potential like a laser.

Without that work, there is a high chance of failure.

How Do You Activate Your Internal Power?

So how do you avoid becoming the person who is just busy being busy. How do you avoid becoming the wondering generality who goes around in the same circles year after year, never getting anywhere new, yet exhausting themselves in the process of trying?

You do this by releasing the power of a question upon your mind.

By learning to ask powerful questions you can guide your mind to find inspiration and the fortitude to act upon it.

To paraphrase the great Anthony Robbins;

“If you want to change your life learn to ask better questions”

And on a similar note Dr John Demartini says;

“The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your questions”

Questions are intuitive promptings for your soul. Picking through the clutter and searching out that which is most meaningful to you.

Here are the two power questions that with forge clarity and purpose for you in 2017:

There they are. Don’t be fooled by their simplicity. Let them sink in. That are truly profound and will work miracles on your subconscious mind if you take the the time to think deeply and answer completely.

What is it specifically that you want for your health in 2017? Is this the year that you do what it takes to rebuild your body and eliminate the pain and injuries that hold you back? Is this the year that you return to your healthy ideal weight? Is this the year where you handle you fatigue and regain natural energy. Is this the year that you get off all medications and learn to master your lifestyle? Perhaps it is the year of the marathon for you, or the 10Km run or the Spartan race. Maybe it is your time to handle stress and the emotional pain that eats away at your essence each day?

Now. Why do you want that? Get specific. This is so important. You see you are guided by your internal compass known as your values. If you can identify and link your goal with what is truly inspiring and important to you then you will become UNSTOPPABLE!

“When the ‘why’ is big enough the ‘hows’ take care of themselves”

“Great big whys lead to great big lives”

Perhaps it is important to regain your health so that you can be fully present and powerful at work. Allowing you to break through the financial constraints of the past and provide safety for your family. Maybe you need to regain your energy so that you can continue to be super mum for years to come. It could be that you want to fix your injuries so that you can challenge yourself in the crucible of sport, breaking through previous limiting beliefs and accessing mental power through your body. Perhaps you need to just release the burden of chronic pain so that you can shed the irritation and grumpiness that is harming important relationships at home?

This is all deeply personal stuff. This is why you need to dig and find what is real for you.

My sincerest wish for you is that 2017 is your breakout year. The year that you surge confidently forward towards your dreams and set your life off on a new and bold trajectory, clear and purposeful in your actions.

In the next post I will share some insights on how to stay naturally inspired and focussed on your goals by discovering your internal compass.

The End.

“The true purpose of goals is to compel you to become the person it takes to achieve them.”

Dr John Demartini

“The highest reward for a person’s toil is not what they get for it, but what they become by it.”

John Ruskin

“Goals are to be subsets of a major outcome and life purpose.

Your purpose is through time and space (journey).

Your goals are in time and space (destination).

Goals are to be harmonious with your higher values.

Goals are not to defy natural laws.

Goals are to be realistic and believable.

Goals are to be possible, achievable or obtainable.

Goals are to be measurable.

Goals are to be specific.

Goals are to be prioritized.

Goals are to be focused on and not to be distracted from.

Goals are to be given completion, achievement or accomplishment dates.

Goals are to be on what you would love not on what you wouldn’t.

Goals are to be written in the present tense.

Goals are to have an action plan for their achievement.”

Jim Rohn
